Important Season Announcement

  IMPORTANT SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT Our 50th Anniversary just got a whole lot more  dramatic ! Thank you for your ongoing support of Pittsburgh Public Theater. As our 49th season draws to a close we're getting ready for our most exciting season yet - One Season to Rule Them All, Pittsburgh Public Theater's 50th Anniversary season.  Speaking of excitement…  one of live theater’s most defining attributes is its unpredictable nature. We have a shift in our season programming to share along those lines.  We recently learned that our commercial partner for  SCOTLAND, PA  is no longer able to support the production next season. Without this investment, we must postpone this production until a future season. We look forward to collaborating with director Lonny Price and rest of the extraordinary  Scotland, PA  creative team when we are able to produce this daring new musical fully and responsibly, and will keep you informed on its development.   🎺 Celebrate the Fourth with the Symphony! Saturday, July 6, 2024 - 7 p.m.  St. Clair Park, Greensburg ⭐We wish you all a very happy holiday this week! Keep the Fourth of July festivities going with the WSO’s one-hour summer concert coming up next Saturday night. 🎶Join us for a beautiful summer evening as we celebrate with patriotic favorites including the  Armed Forces Salute, Stars and Stripes Forever,  and  Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture , along with pops and movie music. Mon Valley Academy for the Arts Partners with Monessen Communities that Care for Free Summer Music Outreach Program

  Mon Valley Academy for the Arts (MVAA) is excited to announce a new partnership with Monessen Communities that Care (CTC), located at 861 Donner Ave, Monessen, PA, to launch a free summer music outreach program for local youth. This initiative is part of MVAA's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality musical education and expanding its reach to more communities. The program marks MVAA's first expansion into Westmoreland County, building on its strong presence in Washington and Fayette Counties.   The music outreach program offers individual and group music lessons every Tuesday, led by MVAA's dedicated instructors Marissa Fargnoli-McFarren, Program Director of the MVAA Outreach Program, and Mark Smith, CEO of MVAA. Countdown to auditions!

  Just 2 weeks until auditions! Sign up now to audition for our 2024 season! The Pittsburgh New Works Festival is holding non-equity auditions as we celebrate our 33rd year of presenting world premiere one-act plays. Join us and our partner theatre companies as we bring 15 new plays to the stage! Auditions will be held Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 in the Genesius Theater at Duquesne University.   For more details and to register Nearly 60 roles to be cast! The plays include more than 50 roles for adults, plus two roles for actors who can play female-presenting 14-year-olds. Actors of all sizes, races, ethnicities, genders, abilities, and sexual orientations are actively encouraged to audition.
