Wednesday evening, the Malpaso Dance Company and its troupe of 11 dancers lit up the stage at the Byham Theater in Pittsburgh with three works by three different choreographers and a number of composers.
Based in Cuba, the company is recognized as one of that country’s most sought-after troupes.
“Indomitable Waltz” (2016) kicked off the evening with compositions by Alexander Balanescu, Michael Nyman and Nils Frahm. “Why You Follow” (2014) ended the first half of the program with a mix of music by four different composers.
