Resonance Works fans will be familiar with the title work, Gilda Lyons’ An Anchor in Time , originally commissioned for Resonance Works’ 10th anniversary season. And who doesn’t know Aaron Copland's beloved Appalachian Spring Suite ? But you may be curious about what we mean by a “choral time capsule.” 🤔 Since this program focuses on time and memory, we’ve chosen choral works from across the centuries. Each of these pieces is, in itself, an “anchor in time;” a touchstone that takes us back (or forward) in time. Some anchors are historic, like a work by Hildegard von Bingen , one of the first identifiable female composers in Western music. Some may be more personal.   The Somerset Auxiliary of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra (JSO) will host “A Taste of Tuscany” on October 6th at Green Gables Restaurant in Jennerstown. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m., with festivities beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased through the Somerset Auxiliary website at sajso.com. Proceeds from the event will support the JSO’s Season 98 programming and education initiatives. Designed as a festive evening to enjoy with friends, A Taste of Tuscany will bring together Italian-inspired food, live music, local restaurants and businesses, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle, all while supporting the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra.      Guests will have the opportunity to sample an Italian dinner buffet featuring food provided by Asiagos Tuscan Restaurant, Johnstown; Anthony’s Restaurant, Johnstown; Olive Garden, Greensburg; Del Grosso’s, Tipton; Delallo’s, Mt.
