Fairmont Pittsburgh Welcomes New Executive Chef

Fairmont Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the appointment of Janine Falvo as Executive Chef, bringing an accomplished culinary career, a deep connection to Pittsburgh, and a passion for seasonal, locally inspired cuisine to the hotel’s culinary program.

A Pittsburgh native, Chef Falvo’s culinary journey began in the heart of her family kitchen. Childhood memories of berry picking, seasonal harvests, canning, and festive gatherings instilled in her a reverence for exceptional ingredients and a deep-rooted connection to community through the shared joy of food.

“Returning to Pittsburgh has always been about more than coming home. It has been about being part of a city whose culinary identity continues to evolve,” said Chef Janine Falvo. “I’m excited to join Fairmont Pittsburgh and bring my experience, creativity, and passion for locally inspired cuisine to the hotel and its guests.”

Her culinary talent has earned recognition throughout her career. Falvo was named a Restaurant Hospitality Rising Star Chef in 2007 and represented Sonoma at a dinner at the James Beard House in New York City in 2010. She was also featured in Food Arts’ biannual menu preview and appeared as a cheftestant on Season 9 of Bravo’s Emmy Award-winning Top Chef. In 2015, she competed on Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen.

    At Fairmont Pittsburgh, Chef Falvo will oversee the hotel’s culinary operations, including fl.2 modern American restaurant and bar, as well as its event spaces and wedding celebrations, bringing her extensive experience, Pittsburgh roots, and ingredient-driven approach to the property’s dining experiences. Her appointment further strengthens Fairmont Pittsburgh’s commitment to showcasing the city's character through thoughtful hospitality and memorable culinary experiences.
